Holy Week 2015

Join Central Baptist as we walk with Jesus to the cross, and beyond it's grief to the celebration of his resurrection! Holy Week is the most important celebration of the Church Year, come and experience this movement of faith!

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday CommunionThis year's commemoration of Jesus' "Last Supper" will take take place around the table. Bring a main dish or side to share and we will celebrate this holy night around our own meal.

Time: 6:30 PM Place: Sunday School Auditorium

Good Friday

Black Drapped CrossCentral Baptist will be holding a Tenebrae service to commemorate the day when Jesus gave up his life, declaring, "It is finished."

The word tenebrae is Latin for "darkness" or "shadows." Throughout the service the story of the crucifixion is read, and with each movement a candle is extinguished. Ultimately, the service ends in darkness and silence as the Lord is placed in the tomb. It is a moving time, and a wonderful preparation for the joyous contrast of Easter.

Time: 7:00 PM Place: Sanctuary

Easter Worship

Gather with the Central Baptist community for a joyous celebration of our Lord's Resurrection! Central's quirky "casually formal" setting pulls from a wide range of Christian traditions to form a worship gathering which is distinct, relaxed, and deeply theological. It's a wonderful place to shout, "He is risen!" to the world.
