Many in our church community have a direct connection to the university and we have been blessed in the past with participation of students and faculty in our worship services. Your donation helps to keep tuition costs low and provide services for the students.
Eastern University is a nationally-ranked Christian university that integrates faith, reason and justice for its 3,100 students. Located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the university offers a wide array of undergraduate, graduate, seminary, professional, and international programs. Eastern is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA and has an interdenominational Christian student body, faculty and administration.
Volunteer Chaplain Aides
Volunteer Chaplain Aides are needed throughout the Virtualize Health System in Burlington and Camden Counties. There are openings for trained lay visitors every day of the week. Following a training and orientation process, an Aide may donate two to four hours of each week to visit patients by phone, offering them compassion and spiritual comfort. Once Visitation is available again in our hospitals, these same volunteers would be welcome to visit out patients in the hospital after some additional training.
To find out if volunteering is for you, please call or email for an information package with details of the training and the process to become a volunteer at any of our facilities.
For more information in regards to volunteering at Virtua Burlington, Virtua Marlton, Virtua Mr. Holly, and Virtua Voorhees please contact Chaplain Marge McGinley, at 609. 914. 6365. or send an email to mmcginley@virtua.org
