January Benevolence: Mission to Chinese Seamen

“The ocean depths raise their voice, O LORD; they raise their voice and roar. The LORD rules supreme in heaven, greater than the roar of the ocean, more powerful than the waves of the sea.” (Psalm 93:3-4)

The Mission to Chinese Seamen is a Christian Evangelical Mission reaching out to Far East Seamen in the port of Philadelphia. We are a non-profit faith based prayer ministry dependent upon contributions from mission supporters. MCS reaches out to seafarers from many nations right here at the port of Philadelphia.  Merchant Seamen typically spend ten months or more each year on board ship and only two months in their home country with family and friends.  The life of a seafarer is often lonely, monotonous and many times dangerous.  Seamen are truly a forgotten people group because they are an international population constantly on the move.

Interfaith Hospitality Network - Friday, January 8.  Cooks, servers, overnighters needed.  Please consider giving a bit of your time for a homeless family in need.  See Amanda for information.
