October Benevolence – World Mission Offering

Each year, the World Mission Offering (WMO) casts a spotlight on a different part of the world – giving American Baptists a personal, front row seat to the powerful ministries that are changing lives for Christ around the globe.  This year, WMO is excited to share the spiritual revival happening in Baptist churches right now in CUBA!  Cuba’s spitual awakening – and the many other amazing things God is doing around the world – are exciting testimonies that “with God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

Our church council, following the encouragement of ABCUSA’s General Secretary, has agreed to shift our special mission focus for September to Hurricane relief through One Great Hour of Sharing. As the situation unfolds, and long-term rebuilding efforts get under way, we’ll begin exploring how we partner with American Baptist Home Mission Societies to be part of the effort.  Thank you all for your support. I know Central will go above and beyond, as we always do.

Summer is winding down, so that means we start gearing up for the fall. Choir rehearsal will begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 7:30 pm in the Sunday School auditorium. We will be singing in the church service on Sunday, September 17th. Anyone interested in joining the choir, please come to the rehearsal. Enjoy the rest of the summer break!

Join us for our Back to School Youth Group on Thursday, September 7, 6:30-8pm.  We will meet in the youth room for a HUGE scavenger hunt!  Friends are always invited!  For students in grades 4th-12th.

Special Benevolence – Missionary Kit Ripley

Kit works with the New Life Center Foundation (NLCF) in northern Thailand. The NLCF works with tribal minority girls who are survivors of labor exploitation, sexual abuse, domestic violence and/or human trafficking and girls who are at risk for exploitation and abuse. Kit’s work there includes teaching therapeutic art classes, guest relations, staff development and training, report writing and administration.
