Call to Worship

Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits.

Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.

Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.

Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the LORD, O my soul.

—Psalm 103:1-2, 20-22, NIV

Worship Song, #210 "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty"

Verse 1

Praise to the Lord the Almighty
The King of creation
O my soul praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear
Now to His temple draw near
Join me in glad adoration

Verse 2

Praise to the Lord
Who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings
Yea so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth

Verse 3

Praise to the Lord
Who doth prosper thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee

Verse 4

Praise to the Lord oh
Let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him
Let the Amen sound from His people again
Gladly forever adore Him

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus

Jesus Jesus how I trust Him
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er
Jesus Jesus precious Jesus
O for grace to trust Him more

O how sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to trust His cleansing blood
Just in simple faith to plunge me
'Neath the healing cleansing flood

Yes 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus
Just from sin and self to cease
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest and joy and peace

Wilt be with me to the end

Benediction

October Benevolence - World Mission Offering

The mission focus for October is World Mission Offering supporting International Ministries of the American Baptist Church. “International Ministries, also known as the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, works cross-culturally to invite people to become disciples of Jesus Christ and to proclaim, through both word and deed, God’s reign of justice, peace and abundant life for all creation.”

“For the 2020 World Mission Offering, we are highlighting the Ministry Priorities of Discipleship, Theological Education, Peace and Justice, Education, Health and Wellness, and Economic Development. While these represent only a fraction of IM’s ministries, they provide a window into what God is doing worldwide through our 125 global servants, 900+ volunteers, home staff, and 250+ international partners.”

“This year’s World Mission Offering theme is “I once was blind, but now I see.” We are seeing God at work in so many hopeful and encouraging ways through our global servants and global partners. And we are sharing some of those stories with you and your church this September and October through videos, bulletin inserts, and other resources so you can see the impact you are having on global mission. Your participation now more than ever will help global servants and partners rebuild and re-establish ministries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and crisis.”

Operation Christmas Child Special Event

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10, 6:00PM
GRACE BIBLE CHURCH 822 CHURCH ST MT LAUREL, NJ. 08065

How do you explain what a gift is to someone who’s never received one? It’s all too common in many parts of the world for parents to only be able to afford basic necessities. It was that way for Justin. He Grew up in a loving Christian family in South Asia, but they struggled to make ends meet. He had never opened a gift until age 13 when he received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. Come find out how a gift-filled shoebox helped a child who had never received a gift grasp that Jesus is God’s greatest gift.

New life Center Foundation Annul Report

Full report located in Memorial Hall—Kit Ripley’s Update below

Over the Last eighteen months Thailand was able to contain the pandemic remarkably well for many months thanks to cooperation with public health guidelines. International travel was restricted and the citizens wore masks and worked from home whenever possible. However, within the last few months, a fresh outbreak of the delta variant has begun to spread throughout the country, and they are now averaging 20,000 COVID cases per day with over 9,000 fatalities.

At the New Life Center, Students are engaged in Virtual Schooling this year and a schedule of supportive activities have been organized; however, NLCF has reluctantly been forced to suspend activities that normally take place off-site, such as day trips, swimming, hiking, visiting family in villages, anti-trafficking campaigns, and community based programing.

Kit had returned to the US in March of 2020 and was unable to return for eleven months. The NLCF staff and Rev. Jeni Pedzinski kept things running smoothly on site during this time. The NLCF Annual Report details the many ways our prayerful partnership makes a tangible difference in the lives of the NLCF residents and staff. The work of the NLCF is needed now more than ever as this time of economic desperation allows abuse and exploration to prosper. Kit would like to thank us for our continued commitment and partnership through prayers, friendship, and financial support.

Choir Rehearsal

Rehearsal is in-person and open to all who would like to come and sing whether or not you can be with us on Sundays. We will be preparing anthems to use as our Virtual Choir songs as well as anthems to sing live on a specific Sunday.
