Call to Worship
“Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.”
What did God do to help us?
God chose the people of Israel to make a new beginning.
They received God’s covenant and prepared the way for Jesus to come as our Savior.
Let us worship the God of the covenant, the God of heaven and earth.
—based on Psalm 124:8
Hymn, “I Sing The Mighty Power Of God”
Verse 1
I sing the mighty power of God
That made the mountains rise
That spread the flowing seas abroad
And built the lofty skies
I sing the wisdom that ordained
The sun to rule the day
The moon shines full at His command
And all the stars obey
Verse 2
I sing the goodness of the Lord
That filled the earth with food
He formed the creatures with His word
And then pronounced them good
Lord how Thy wonders are displayed
Where'er I turn my eye
If I survey the ground I tread
Or gaze upon the sky
Verse 3
There's not a plant or flower below
But makes Thy glories known
And clouds arise and tempests blow
By order from Thy throne
While all that borrows life from Thee
Is ever in Thy care
And everywhere that we can be
Thou God art present there

Hymn, “This Is My Father’s World”
Verse 1
This is my Father's world
And to my list'ning ears
All nature sings and 'round me rings
Music of the spheres
This is my Father's world
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees of skies and seas
His hand the wonders wrought
Verse 2
This is my Father's world
The birds their carols raise
The morning light the lily white
Declare their Maker's praise
This is my Father's world
He shines in all that's fair
In the rust'ling grass I hear Him pass
He speaks to me ev'rywhere
Verse 3
This is my Father's world
O let me ne'er forget
And though the wrong seems oft so strong
God is the Ruler yet
This is my Father's world
The battle is not done
Jesus who died shall be satisfied
And earth and heaven be one

November Benevolence - Operation Christmas Child/Food Pantry
The mission focus for November is Operation Christmas Child/Bread of Life Food Pantry.
Operation Christmas Child
It begins tomorrow, National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child!
Please pray for all involved this week, especially for the safety of the people dropping off shoeboxes and the volunteers at the collection locations.
Remember besides packing a physical shoebox, you can participate by:
packing a shoebox online for $25 a
contributing towards the payment of shipping costs for CBC’s 30 shoeboxes (cost is $9 each)
volunteering during the church’s collection times
praying for all involved with delivery and collection of the shoeboxes.
Food Pantry Thanksgiving Collection
Bread of Life Food Pantry is collecting turkeys and additional food to provide holiday meals for their clients on pantry day, November 21. Please see flyer for more details.
Food can be dropped off at the church during worship or anytime on the front porch at 205 Lippincott Ave, Riverton.
Angel Tree 2020
This year the Angel Tree will be handled differently than in years past due to COVID-19. Rather than having angels with specific gifts, the pantry is asking for monetary donations that will be used to purchase gifts. Checks can be made out to “Epworth UMC” with “Angel Tree” on the memo line.
The pantry is collecting small gifts that could be used as stocking stuffers. These can be dropped off at Epworth United Methodist Church during business hours.
In addition, you can purchase a gift from their Amazon Wishlist.
Wellness Hour
Drop in for a time of connection, prayer, and an occasional devotion. Mitigation guidance will be in effect and masks are required. Stay for the hour, or just pop in for a moment to be reminded of our incarnational connection with each other.
The next gathering will be Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 11:00 AM to Noon. More dates can be found on Central Baptist’s web page.
