Lent begins

Ash Wednesday begins our Lenten journey to Holy Week and Easter. Lent is a time of preparation, reminding us of the nature of the Christian journey of faith. During this time we are called to focused prayer, a removal of distractions, and an increased posture of service.

This year, as the world seems to be spiraling into war, the Lenten journey is truly prophetic. We walk forward after Christ with deeds of love and mercy, giving of ourselves so that others may live. Let’s commit to this journey anew this season so that we might offer an alternative vision of hope to those who are in desperate need.

If you’d like to mark the beginning of our Lenten journey in worship today, Central Baptist is invited to Epworth Methodist Church for Ash Wednesday worship—beginning at 7 PM.
