Updates on CoVid-19
A lot can change in a week, and this past week has been a doozy. I wanted to share with the Central Baptist Family some of the things we’re continuing to do to mitigate the spread of CoVid–19 when we gather for worship. Before I this I’d like to point out four things.
Feel free to remain at home
If you are feeling unsettled about going to a gathering of people at this time, please feel free to remain home. This is a serious situation, and if you are in a high risk demographic prudence is wisdom. Should you opt to remain at home during this time, please contact me and let me know your situation. I’ll be keeping a list of folks who are self-isolating and making sure to keep in contact.
If you are sick, stay at home
If you are not feeling well for any reason, please stay at home and recover. This should be true at all times, but especially during a pandemic. As above, let me me know you situation so I can reach out.
We’re streaming worship
Each Sunday we will be streaming worship on our Facebook page These streams remain on the page, so even if you miss a week you’ll still be able to participate. We’ll even try to field prayer requests from our at-home-congregation, but there is some delay, so please forgive us if we miss a request or two.
We aren’t going bankrupt
If feel you need to stay home, we’re going to be able to pay the bills for the month. If you are a member of the Central Baptist family who gives regularly, feel free to set aside your offerings until you feel it is advisable for you to return.
If you don’t feel comfortable delaying your offering, or would like to contribute financially to Central’s ministry, we do accept donations through PayPal on our website.
We’re thankful for everyone who participates in Central’s mission.
Our Steps
Here’s what we’re doing to mitigate the possible spread of CoVid–19 during worship.
- Gloved greeters will welcome worshippers with a squirt of hand sanitizer, instead of a handshake
- Worshippers will be asked to sit 6 feel apart from one another
- Passing the Peace will consisted of non-contact or verbal expressions only.
- Ushers will wear gloves (for their protection) and bring the offering plates to each person, instead of passing it down the pews.
- During prayer time the microphone will not be handed to each person. Instead, they will convey their request to the facilitator, who will then repeat it into the microphone for the congregation.
- After worship fellowship time will be discontinued for the foreseeable future.
- After this week we will be foregoing print bulletins for the foreseeable future. Worship orders will be available at Central’s Web Site.
- Everyone will be wished well with a second squirt of hand sanitizer following the benediction.
