January Benevolence: Mission to Chinese Seamen
“The ocean depths raise their voice, O LORD; they raise their voice and roar. The LORD rules supreme in heaven, greater than the roar of the ocean, more powerful than the waves of the sea.” (Psalm 93:3-4)
The Mission to Chinese Seamen reaches out to seafarers from many nations right here at the port of Philadelphia. Merchant Seamen typically spend ten months or more each year on board ship and only two months in their home country with family and friends. The life of a seafarer is often lonely, monotonous and many times dangerous. Seamen are truly a forgotten people group because they are an international population constantly on the move.
Annual Meeting and Pot-Luck Luncheon - Join the Central Baptist family following worship today, January 31 for our Annual Meeting and pot-luck lunch! We’ll reflect on the year which has passed, and look forward toward the year to come. Jesus is doing come incredible things in our midst, come and celebrate! As always, we invite our family to bring a main dish, side, or dessert.
