January Benevolence: Mission to Chinese Seamen The Mission to Chinese Seamen is a Christian Evangelical Mission reaching out to Far East Seamen in the port of Philadelphia. Merchant Seamen typically spend ten months or more each year on board ship and only two months in their home country with family and friends. The life of a seafarer is often lonely, monotonous and many times dangerous. Seamen are truly a forgotten people group because they are an international population constantly on the move.
Central Baptist Annual Meeting Join us after worship next week, January 25th, for our annual meeting. We will be having a pot luck - so bring a main dish or side, and come ready for some fun. Items on the agenda include:
1. Voting in new members 2. Final approval of the bylaw revision 3. Church celebrations 4. Officially electing the Church Council
The revised bylaws will be available as both a printed booklet and eBook.
Wednesday Friendship Group The Wednesday Friendship Group will be meeting this Wednesday, January 21 at 7:15 pm in the Sunday School Auditorium. We will be making valentines for the residents at Riverview Estates at this meeting and at our February 4th meeting. Any women wishing to help are welcome to come and give us a hand. We have over 100 to make. If you need a ride, please contact Karen after church.
