Blue Christmas Worship Service …for those who need restored hope. The bells of Christmas do not always ring out a message of joy. Sometimes they toll a message of grief, sadness, and loneliness. This may be the first Christmas without a loved one; it may be a holiday that has always been difficult. The constant refrains of carols, the merriment at the malls, the parties and open houses and family gatherings remind many people of significant losses in their lives. Even in the midst of the celebrating and joy, we can feel very alone. We need space and time to acknowledge our sadness; we need to know that we are not alone. We need encouragement to live our lives one day at a time. We need hope. Calvary Presbyterian Church, 300 Fourth Street, Riverton, NJ will offer a Blue Christmas worship service on Sunday, December 21 at 4:00 pm. This service is designed to express and address that holidays can be difficult times. The service will have music, scripture, liturgy, and a time of remembering and candlelighting. Everyone is welcome. (On the afternoon of December 21, you may have doubts about attending this service. Please come anyhow!)
