December Benevolence: RMMO - The roots of RMMO go back to the mid-1930s, when American Baptist congregations received a Communion Fellowship Offering on the first Sunday of each month to support retired ministers, missionaries, their widowed spouses and elderly clergy within their churches. In 1948, churches began donating to the November Communion Fellowship Offering. Finally, in 1977 American Baptist Churches USA launched the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering (RMMO) to continue this tradition of thankfulness. The Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering is a personal offering, one rooted in thanks for the countless ways ministers and missionaries guide each member of the church along his or her spiritual journey. http://www.abc-usa.org/rmmo/
Messiah Community-Sing - The First United Methodist Church in Moorestown is pleased to offer the 32nd annual Community-Sing of Handel’s Messiah. On Sunday, December 8th, beginning at 5:00pm in our sanctuary, Messiah by G.F. Handel will be sung by all those present. Please join us for this wonderful Advent Season Tradition.
See the Lights! - Mark your calendars and set aside Thursday, Dec.12th to enjoy driving around the local area and looking at all the Christmas Lights with the residents of Riverview Estates. We will meet at the Home by 6:00pm, load everyone into cars and on the bus, drive around the area to check out all the beautiful lights and then come back to enjoy some more fellowship time eating cookies and drinking hot cocoa. A sign-up sheet is in Memorial Hall for: 1) willing to drive; 2) wanting to come to enjoy the lights and/or 3) bring cookies. Be on the look-out for some wonderful lights in our area and let Karen know where to find them so they will be included on the tour.
